Concord, N.H. — Attorney General John M. Formella is calling on members of the public to lend their time and experience in support of consumer protection efforts in New Hampshire.
On March 28, Formella announced that the Attorney General’s Office is now accepting applications for volunteer Consumer Affairs Specialists within the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau. Volunteers in this role will assist attorneys and staff in handling calls to the consumer protection hotline, offering support to residents who may have been impacted by unlawful business practices.
"This is a rewarding opportunity for volunteers to make a direct impact in the lives of fellow New Hampshire consumers," Formella’s office stated in the announcement. Volunteers will provide basic information about consumer rights and options, helping the office uphold state consumer protection laws.
Adults of all ages are encouraged to apply. Volunteers are expected to commit four to six hours each week. Training and mentorship will be provided, and applicants must pass a background check and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. While prior public-facing experience is helpful, it is not required.
Those interested in applying or seeking additional information can contact the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau at (603) 271-3641 or email DOJ-CPB@doj.nh.gov.
